Removals to China is not a broker. It is the UK-facing service identity of Asian Express International Movers Ltd., a moving company that has been operating from Hong Kong since 1979 and runs company offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

That distinction matters on this route specifically. Plenty of UK websites will sell you a move to China and hand it to whichever agent quotes cheapest at the Chinese end. Here, the China end is the company — so the people quoting you at the start are accountable for what happens at the port.

How to check out any international mover, including us

You are proposing to hand your possessions to a company on the other side of the world. Here is what we would check if we were you, in the order we would check it. It applies to us as much as to anyone else quoting you.

  1. Ask who physically handles the destination end, and get a name. This is the single most useful question on this route. Many UK firms sell a China move and hand it to whichever agent quoted cheapest that month. Ask whether the destination agent is part of the same company, and if not, who they are.
  2. Ask for the quote in writing, with the exclusions listed. A quote that does not say what it excludes is not a quote. Compare the eight charges commonly left out.
  3. Ask how they arrived at the volume. Ours comes from the survey inventory we publish in full. If a mover will not show you their figures, you cannot check their quote against anyone else's.
  4. Ask what insurance actually covers, and read it. Standard carrier liability on international freight is calculated by weight and is nowhere near replacement value.
  5. Ask for references on your specific route. Not general testimonials — someone who moved from the UK to the city you are moving to.

We are happy to answer all five. If a mover is evasive on the first one in particular, that tells you most of what you need to know about how your shipment will be handled when it reaches China.

The Harmony Relocation Network

Asian Express is a shareholder member of Harmony Relocation Network, a global network of independent movers. That is how the UK origin side of your move works: professional partners in Britain who pack and collect to the same standard, rather than a company pretending to have depots it does not have.

We would rather be straightforward about that than imply a UK operation we do not run. What we do run is the part that most often goes wrong on this lane — the Chinese end.

What we are not

  • Not a comparison site. We quote our own service, and the China end of it is our own offices.
  • Not a freight forwarder for commercial cargo. Household goods and personal effects, plus office relocations. We do not do general import freight.
  • Not immigration or tax advisers. We will explain how your residence permit affects your shipment, because it does. We will not tell you what visa to apply for.
  • Not able to promise a delivery date months out. Nobody honestly can on this route. We give you planning ranges and tell you when they change.

How this site is written

Two editorial rules, since you are being asked to trust the content as well as the company.

  • We do not publish rates. Freight pricing on this lane moves constantly. Any number we printed would be wrong within weeks and would mislead someone budgeting a move. We publish the cost *structure*, planning ranges, and a checklist for comparing quotes — see what moving to China costs.
  • We do not state customs specifics as fact. Allowances and thresholds change and depend on your circumstances. We describe the framework, name the responsible authority, and confirm the current position for your actual shipment through our China office. Anything else would be a website pretending to be a customs broker.

Where a figure on this site is our own planning estimate rather than a sourced fact, it is labelled as one. The volume figures behind our calculator are published in full for the same reason.

Questions people ask before booking

Are you a UK company?

Asian Express International Movers Ltd. is a Hong Kong company, established in 1979. Removals to China is its UK-facing service identity for the UK–China lane. UK packing and collection are carried out by professional origin partners; the China end is handled by Asian Express staff in our own offices.

Who will actually handle my move?

A Harmony network origin partner packs and collects in the UK. Asian Express handles the freight, the Chinese customs entry, and delivery through our Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou office, or the Hong Kong head office. You have a named contact throughout.

How do I check you out before booking?

Ask who handles the destination end and get a name, ask for the quote in writing with exclusions listed, and ask how the volume was calculated. The section above sets out the five checks we would make ourselves, and we will answer all of them.

Do you have customer reviews?

We have deliberately not published testimonials on this site, because unverifiable quotes on a company's own website are worth very little. Ask us for references relevant to your route and city, and check independent sources.
