We book a survey
For anything above about 5 m³ we survey by video call or in person. Nobody can price a household move accurately from a form, and a quote given without a survey is a quote that will change.
You get a written quote
Itemised, showing UK charges, freight, and destination charges in China separately, with the exclusions listed plainly so you can compare it against anyone else's.
What we will ask at the survey
So you can have the answers ready: your expected residence permit date, the delivery city and whether the building has lift access, whether anything needs crating (artwork, pianos, marble), whether you need storage at either end, and whether anything in the shipment is new and still boxed.
Timing matters more than you might expect. Personal effects entering mainland China are cleared against your residence permit. If you are still waiting on the permit, tell us — we will plan the sailing around it rather than let your belongings sit in bond at your expense.
Why we ask these five questions and not more
Long enquiry forms are a way of doing the consultant's job for them badly. These five are the minimum a person needs in order to reply with something useful rather than a request for more information.
